The UNCAAGED - Fall 2023 Cohort

We are aiming to experiment with using The UNCAAGED Way of Life as a way to engage everyone in a different way around circus arts. As the acronym states, we believe that circus and aerial arts can be an effective to to "Amplify Glee, Equity, & Discovery." 

This opportunity is really open to anyone to engage as a student or coach, however we want to also host 6 spots in this cohort that will offer BIPOC Priority enrollment if space becomes limited. The application only takes about 5-10mns!

The course will officially run from 4:15-5:45pm on Wednesdays September 27th thur December 13th. 

Anyone applying should plan around attending on the Very First Session, September 27th.

Completion of a Stomping Ground Waiver is REQUIRED as this is where The UNCAAGED will be hosted. Follow the link: Stomping Ground Studio Waiver (smartwaiver.com)

The Course Session Flow will look like...,

Week 1

• Connectivity
• Introductions for Cohort Members, UNCAAGED Coaches, and host Studio Instructors
• The UNCAAGED Way of Life: Establishing Belonging with UNCAAGED Cohort Expectations, Norms & Rituals

Week 2-7

• Building Circus Skills, Primarily in Aerial Silks
• Building Community through The UNCAAGED Way of Life

Week 8-11

• Continue Building Circus Skills, Primarily in Aerial Silks
• Continue Building Community through The UNCAAGED Way of Life
• Start work on Aerial Silks Sequencing

Week 12

• Invite Guests
• Perform [or support those performing] & Acknowledgements
• Wrap Up & What's Next

We Prefer that everyone submit their own enrollment and agree to the terms themselves. However, if you are a guardian submitting you and your minors' enrollment you can use one registration for all of you and agree on the minors' behalf.

PS!

As a response to building a more welcoming environment through UNCAAGED, we will also begin facilitating a Professional Learning Community for circus professionals to be a part of the conversation around diversity and engagement of more racially underrepsented individuals in circus arts. Therefore, we will be looking for feedback that will help you feel more welcomes in these spaces.
